What the quote form collects, and what happens to it.

In short: the form emails your enquiry privately to Taylor so he can scope it and reply. Nothing is stored in a database on this site, nothing is sold, and there is no tracking.

What this notice covers

This notice covers everything on tscott.ca: the landing page, the consulting pages and their quote and enquiry form, and the free solar toolset. Most of it concerns the form, because that is the only place the site collects personal information. The toolset is dealt with separately at the end.

It does not cover information exchanged later under a signed engagement, which is governed by the agreement for that work.

Taylor Scott Solar Consulting is a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada.

What is collected

The form collects only what you type into it: your name, company or organization, role, work email address, an optional phone number, the project sites you list with their addresses or coordinates, the services and project stage you select, your preferred visit window and any delivery deadline, any access or safety constraints you describe, and your open notes.

The site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. No profile is built about you, and nothing about your visit is recorded beyond what your browser sends to make the page load.

Why it is collected

The information is used for one purpose: to understand your enquiry well enough to scope it and prepare a quotation, and to reply to you. It is not used for marketing, it is not sold, and it is not shared with third parties for their own purposes.

How it is handled

The form is submitted over HTTPS to a same-origin endpoint on this site. The submission is checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-spam service that confirms the request came from a person rather than an automated script.

A validated enquiry is emailed directly to a private address and is not written to a database on this website. Server logs record that an enquiry was delivered and how many sites it listed; they do not record names, email addresses, project addresses, or message contents.

The email is delivered through Resend, an email delivery provider, which processes the message in order to send it. It arrives at a tscott.ca address that Cloudflare Email Routing forwards to a Google Gmail mailbox.

How long it is kept

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to respond and to manage a potential or active engagement, and are deleted when they are no longer needed for that purpose. If an enquiry does not lead to work, the email is deleted within twelve months.

Your choices

You can ask what information is held about you, ask for a correction, or ask for your enquiry to be deleted. Send the request through the quote form or through the LinkedIn profile linked in the footer, and it will be actioned.

The form is the only place this site collects personal information. If you would rather not use it, you can make contact through LinkedIn instead.

Confidential project material

Do not attach or paste confidential drawings, single-line diagrams, utility correspondence, or scope documents into the enquiry form. The form accepts no file uploads. Confidential material is exchanged only after an initial review, through a channel agreed with you.

The free solar toolset

The calculators under /tools collect nothing. They run entirely in your browser: the values you enter and the results they produce are never sent to this site, are not stored, and do not survive closing the tab. There is no account, no sign-in, and no usage tracking.

Two of them do reach outside your browser for climate data. The Snow Loss Calculator requests data from the Open-Meteo API and the Environment Canada climate data API, based on the coordinates you enter. Those requests go directly from your browser to those services and carry the coordinates and nothing else. How each service handles a request is covered by its own privacy policy.

Files the tools generate — CSV reports and AutoCAD scripts — are created in your browser and saved straight to your device. Their contents are never transmitted anywhere.

The toolset loads no third-party fonts, scripts, or analytics of any kind.

Changes

If this notice changes, the revised version is published on this page. This version is current as of November 2026, when the site moved from luscott.ca to tscott.ca. The toolset, formerly at tools.luscott.ca, has been part of this site since September 2026 and is covered by this notice.
